How your matches work
We compare your preferred landscapes and experiences with all 64 designated US national parks, including Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories. Your travel month, time available, chosen region, transport and preferred pace shape the results. Your chosen region, car-free travel and appetite for travel logistics act as filters. Standard matches focus on road or town access. Parks that require boat connections, small aircraft or wilderness expedition planning appear only when you choose the corresponding journey option. A flight to a state or gateway is separate from specialist access into a park. Scenery, activities and seasonal fit help order the remaining parks.
Our suggested seasons, pace, typical trip length and crowd levels are editorial judgments, not official NPS ratings. Matches are starting points, not promises of weather, wildlife, access or availability. A car-free match can still require a seasonal shuttle, tour, transfer or careful accommodation choice.
Where the information comes from
We research official National Park Service visitor information and link the sources on each guide. We do not imply that our writers have personally visited every park. We avoid presenting changing entrance fees or reservation rules as permanent facts; use the official links before booking and before departure.

Every national park. Many kinds of journey.
Our collection covers all 64 places designated as US national parks as of October 22, 2026. This includes the US territories and Chiricahua, redesignated on October 20, 2026. National monuments, historic sites and other National Park System designations are outside this collection.
The collection is checked against the official NPS National Park System list and the October 20 Chiricahua designation announcement.
